I cut off the strings and took off all the hardware. I did an initial cleaning of the hardware, then dropped it off by the shop and they polished it up to a shine. I bought a few new screws and things. It went from a frog to a prince (cosmetically at least). I made about $1000 when I sold it.

I've got an old Les Paul that could use a complete screw replacement.

It is one fine bass and every place I take it someone says wow where did you get that bass and what is it?
I tell them Lord Bongo gave it to me and next time they go looking for a bass settle for nothing less.
Usually I will hear I don't play 5 stringers but I do like that sound that bass is making.
Just a matter of time here in this State before folks learn.
