thanx, i have already seen this. however i highly doubt it woud take care of my issue, cause the scratch has gone through the clear coat and also through the color. I was thinking of taking it to a luthier and maybe he could repair it? anyone else had similar experience?

I know that most people repair stuff like this by drop filling with CA glue (thin super glue), but I have not had good results when I've tried it (on far cheaper guitars). I'd let an expert do it or live with the scratch.

Is it a gigging guitar? If so it's going to get a few battle scars. If its a case queen then an expert is your best bet. Or even someone who paints cars or motor cycles may help.

For the relatively small outlay, I'd try the guitar scratch remover. When you sand/scratch the topcoat it goes all kinda milky and the GS remover may very well do the trick - it's always useful to have some around anyway. Believe me - just take a look at the photos from my JP6 refurb.

Before you try anything, try this it removed a huge deep scratch in my Purple EVH, you can hardly tell now, there s a white one and a blue, get both as the Blue stuff is a courser than the white and then use the white to make it almost totally clear of the scratch.

Cheers, thanks for that. Jackson2012 also advocates the use of guitar scratch remover.

It's not a wipe on wipe off process - you do have to use some elbow grease but the results I had were great.

A guitar with that kind of problem is useless. Send it to me.

Well, stuff like that happens and the first battle scar is always the hardest to take...I wouldn't take drastic measures as you might wish you kept your hands off it afterwards, BUT follow Spud's and Jackson2112's advice and get yourself some of that Guitar Scratch Remover stuff, it is easy and safe to use and the results are remarkable...you might not be able to make the scratch disappear wholly but you'll surely make it a lot less visible. I've safely used it on a few of my guitars - it really works beautifully!

This stuff has worked for me in the past, plus you can use it on almost anything at home.
It is a tedious process though, you'll have to keep going over the area several... Lets say a lot.
It did work though, I'm not sure how deep your scratch is, but it's worth a try!
I think it was only $13 CAD.

That dude should call the factory and see if they will fix it as it looks like a warranty issue to me. Paint should not fall off like that!!!
