Natural oil finish ash Stingray?

Does anyone know if EB ever did a natural oil finish Stingray body? or are they all poly urethane? Would love to get my hands on an oil finish ash stingray if there is such a thing!

don't know about an oil finish but I have a fretless mid ninties Stingray with a "Velvet" finish which is a matt natural finish over ash.
feels and looks very similar to the oiled neck.

I think it was only availiable from '95 to about '97.

anyway, here's a couple of pics, I hope they can convey the difference from the high gloss natural finish.

I've got a 1995 natural velvet Sterling - same finish - and it is quite the beauty. I prefer it over the glossy by far. Reminds me of a butterscotch blonde Tele.
