After much consideration I decided that I could order a new backup fretless in trans gold which would have been nice or.....

Well, I was playing around on the net and found this lonely lost soul (last year's color) and decided it needed a home.....

Here you can see the new baby with its older sibling.

Plays and sounds great (a little more punchy) but weighs about 2 pounds more! (Haven't weighed it yet.)

Anyway, off to play!

I really like that trans orange! It's funny how sometimes you only tend to notice how nice some finishes after they are discontinued.

Congratulations on a very nice bass!

Very cool bass - congrats.

Nice honeyburst as well - it would be interesting to hear your views on the other tones the HH config Ray gives in fretless form.

Ironically, so far I like it best in the bridge position just like my single H.

But I'll be gigging with it this weekend and plan on playing around with it a bit and will post any interesting finds. :)

Congratulations! Try the neck H alone for a very fat, smooth fretless sound. I love that on mine.

Trans Orange really is a gorgeous color. Here's my lefty SR5. She's my number one!

So sorry for the hijack, but is it that trans orange is no longer a choice for bass color? I do see that it is available on SOME guitars?

I never even thought of looking at the guitar colour choices. I just assumed they were similar to the basses, maybe with some exceptions for the signature and BFR models.

Hey AD!

It still exists, but not on all models.

I briefly owned an AL in that color combo (Trans Orange/tort) and it is indeed smokin'. If it were available on the Big Al I'd be in trouble.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I was looking to see what picture I posted of my trans orange StingRay and ran across this post. Too funny! :p
