And there it is! After 8 long month it finally arrived in Germany. Very bautiful alder body with slightly figured maple neck/fretboard (a few bird's eyes here and there) in my favorite HH configuration. As expected playes like a dream and is (of course) high notch quality. Stunning: The weight is only 4.1 kg what is better than I expected and certainly will help to make this bass my go-to bass for long gigs.
I have played a 2013 Bongo 5 HH with an all rosewood neck for a little more than a year. The combination of woods of this new PDN Bongo is somehow the opposite and tonewise you get exactly what you would expect: a little less warmth, more attack, and a little more growl what makes me love the neck PU sound even more.
I have mounted a mint tort PG instead of the black PG (which looks fantastic, too). Can't wait for tonight's rehearsal and the Friday night gig!
