Awesome bass Erin! We've had a couple come through but have been so busy we didn't have time to take pictures (aside from the one at NAMM)

The color rocks, there are purpleish gold flecks in the white that really make it pop in person.

I didnt notice any purple. It sure does pick up traces of whatever is around it though. I had a gig last night I opted not to take it to, but it will be interisting to see what it looks like under some multicolor par cans and some black light.

I got this bass for a couple of reasons, passive stingray being the main one. And the fact that I'm a sucker for a new bass.

Hi Erin,

can You please explain the function of active/passive switching on this beauty?

Which knob is push-pull switch and does it work like 2 band in active mode or 3 band?

Which knob is pull to passive mode and passive tone blender?

I saw some pics before over the net, but I forgot the tech specs...etc.

Thanks,

Keko

Beautiful bass, Erin, congrats - as you said, I thought these might look all gaudy and a bit Nashville but that looks fabulous to my eye.

I'm guessing you'll come to love the 2 band - I don't often use any of my other basses since I've had the Classic (including your ex Bongo, I'm ashamed to say - maybe attaching some cobalts will resurrect it!!).

I would be very interested to hear what this bass sounds like in passive - I remember hearing a passive Sub Ray at one time - it had the exact characteristics of a Ray sound but with less punch - actually quite nice. Anyway I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

The last knob (what would be a "Bass" control on a 3 band) is a push/pull pot. When you pull the knob up the bass goes into passive mode and that knob is a tone knob. When the knob is down it does not function and the bass is in active mode (2 band eq).

The controls go Volume, Treble (only works in active mode), Bass (only works in active mode), Push/Pull Passive Tone (only works in passive mode, i.e. when the knob is "up").

I just got my 5 string today. I dont have my good camera at my house right now to show good detailed pics, but since its the exact same as the last, its no biggie
Shes a beauty, I have a 2004 Sterling Black/Black, and a 2005 Stingray White/Whitepearloid
This rounds the spectrum of the collection up real nice
