My first Sterling. This thing is a sledgehammer. Gig on friday and can't wait! A lot of great tones for sure. Not as many as my Big Al but 5 good ones nonetheless.

Well as Ed says it's a very aggressive sounding instrument for sure. I like that. It's my pissed off bass. I'm finding some good tones in all the positions.

Position 1 - I've found a need to cut the bass just a tad. Very "big" sounding in this position. I think it's going to be a great position live to cut if need be.

Position 2 - a little hollow but with the mids and treble boosted gives a nice "pop" type sound.

Position 3 - slap city

Position 4 - Jazz"esque". Again add mids and some treble and a nice tone.

Position 5 - the least rude for my blues band. Very nice window shaker.

What I'm amazed at most is how well it plays. I recently sold my Big Al and have been without an EBMM for a month or so....just playing my Fender J's and P's. How in the world do these basses play so much better than others? It astounds me.

Soooo, I have a gig with it tonight. It'll be my main bass for the night. I'm taking my SUB Sterling for backup. I'm going through my GK 800RB and (2) 15" Schoeder cabs. Can't wait to hear the tone live! More to come....
