I'm guessing the FEDEX store is only an option if your dealer ships via FEDEX. :D

Sneaking it in the house is easy for me. Then it's got to be hidden for a while and only played when she's not around. Then after about a year, if she sees it and asks if it's a new bass, I can honestly say "No, I've had that for about a year". :D:D

Do you need to arrange with the FEDEX store in advance?

I would assume any dealer would ship via your preferred method but it helps that Bass Central uses FedEx as their standard shipper.

I do not contact the FedEx facility before hand. I just have it shipped to my attention c/o their name and address with my phone number to call me on arrival. Works like a charm and if the location is 24/7 you can pick it up anytime.

I would imagine you could do the same thing with a USP Store if that is your preferred carrier or that of the place you bought your gear from.

I'm actually awaiting a PDN Mahogany Bongo from Bass Central. No word on it yet.

I'm assuming there's no additional cost to have it shipped to the FEDEX store. I may have to consider that. I hate waiting around for a delivery and it seems that when I finally have to go out, that when the delivery comes.

I just checked and there are no 24/7 locations in my area. Most are only open until 5:30 pm weekdays and noon on Saturday. There's one Fedex/Kinko's a little farther that's open until 11 p.m. Still a good option though.
