Hi all, just got this one in today and this bass just exceeded all of my expectations! Sounds verry similar to my classic ray, not the same tough. It feels awesome, better to me than the slo special neck shape.... this is more similar to a sterling neck to me. The only thing thats a bit less on thiss bass are the tuners wich im replacing later on today and just general fit and finish is slightly less than ebmm. But still top notch! Bought this as a touring bass, to save my ebmms a bit. And im sure it will do a great job! Great bass.

And aperently this is one of 250 made for the usa only with this coluor/fretboard combo! This one does weigh in at 5.1 kilo. Wich is the heaviest of all my basses. So the advertisement that these are light is really not true. (In my case) fit the new schaller tuners too and this is quite a nice difference in feel and looks.

New colors?

Any word on new colors for 2014. Specifically ray34ca models? Chomping at the bit to get a new one but waiting on new colors.

The Mrs. will always get over the GAS as long as you are nice to them :)

It's really a beautiful looking instrument in person. The playability, sound, feel...perfect!

Cheers to you and yours, and a very rockin New Years 2015 too!

Cheers Brian, The good lady has sanctioned a purchase of one bass only for 2015 due to other requirements, damn I hate being sensible, so its spy v spy for me ! A great 2015 to you to man.

Well im planning on selling mine again. On first glance it looks and sounds great and compared to something like a mexican fender they do! But it really is a heavy bass! Also the sound is pretty dull compared to my other rays. It is cl9sest to my classic ray but it misses alot of mids and highs. I need to boost the eq allmost all the way wich is something i dont even think of with anny other ebmm i have.
even then it is sonically not as vibrant as my real rays. I figure for the price these go for i can better get an older sr4 to take on tour then a new or near new ray34. Nothing beats the real deal for me and to be honest this is not as close as i first tought. I can hardly believe the same woods are used for these basses. Would like to see whats under that paintjob :) mayebe a 6 piece body? :p

I'm with you on this, though to be fair I think the ray34 is a spectacular instrument at its price point. Sure it misses the special sauce of the real deal, but in its own and vs other brands they are fantastic.

True! They are beter then other brands cheaper basses but tey are priced pretty high. Price vs quality ebmm still comes out on top. I dont regret buying it but it is no super deal aswell. The basses are marketed as light wich is not true and revieuws are mostly writen by people who have never played a real musicman. Sorry sbmm, but this just doesnt cut it for me
