Am trying to make amends for the SR5 I STUPIDLY sold a couple of years back... it just arrived yesterday and looks like it'll do the trick. The color is outrageous:

Plays great, much lighter than my previous SR5 (which was a 2000 build, I believe...) Does anyone know what specific body wood is being used for opaque finishes these days?

Nice!!! Sky blue reminds me of good old Lake Placid blue, maybe with just a tad less green in the color. I almost bought one of those before I got my Blue Pearl SR5H. Great choice! enjoy her!

it should be ash (swamp ash) I believe. They are now using that on all stingray bodies, regardless of whether it is translucent or opaque finish. My Blue Pearl SR5 is ash. I think before that they would use poplar? Poplar is a bit heavier in my experience. My steve morse is poplar, and it's kind of a beast.
