Used her at rehearsal yesterday, was a big hit with the rest of the guys! I used the neck pickup for some pink floyd tunes were doing, and both humbuckers together for some songs i have to slap on. I also used this position with the treble rolled back a tad for some laid back stuff were doing. I used position 2 and 4 (2 being the inner coils and 4 being the outer) for the majority of the time for everything else, and im struggling to decide which I like better, but I seem to favor the outer coils at rehearsal, and the inner when Im just practicing in the house. For the most part I leave the bass about a quarter boosted for all settings and boost cut the treble to taste, though most of time I leave it flat as well as the mids.

Just picked up a five string Sterling H yesterday. Been playing for a couple of hours last night then will take it to practice tonight. It should work for well for blues but may have to change the strings to something that isn't so bright.

You'll learn when to dabble in the other 3 positions & how to EQ them to taste. Honestly, it takes YEARS to master the Sterling HH.

Heres a taste if u wanna funk
Middle position... cut the mids almost all the way back, boost your treble just a bit, play with the lows depending on ur amp, little boost or little cut.

Try it, I got more if you like :)

Hey guys quick question, this bass was kind of off kilter setup wise when I got it, and Ive got it back to factory settings, but im having a little confusion on the pickup height instructions in the FAQ. It says the neck pickup should be 8 /32 from the pickup cover to the bottom of the string. Are they talking about the top surface of the cover to the bottom of the string? If so that seems pretty low, I tried that and it seems to almost completely sink the neck pickup into the body. Any insight would be appreciated!
