Hey guys! It's been a while since I've popped by here. I'll share my latest swap. Recently, I sold my Bongo 6 HS Honeyroast and acquired a Bongo 5 HH in Stealth Black. I've moved away from extended range basses entirely as I found less and less need for them. A few weeks back I purchased a new Stingray Neck-through in Pacific Blue Burst. I finally got to take some pictures today. The bass sounds great! I love Music Man basses and I'm sticking with them for life!

You can find the pictures here. The forum isn't letting me upload images. :(

How are you finding the "neck through" aspect? I know that you have the increased access etc... But I must confess when I tried one, I did miss the feel of the standard bolt on, probably just so used to it, But I am interested in your thoughts.

Beautiful! Does she sound as good as she looks? I have been curious about the Neck Through models that came out recently. I have 6 basses, but all are bolt on except for one. I always felt that you get more smoothness from neck through, and more punch from bolt-ons.

Curious to hear your thoughts on the NT. It also features a new pre amp. When A/B against a bolt on there is difference!

I really like this bass. I wish I owned a bolt-on Stingray to compare it. I haven't had the occasion to test the "access" of the bass on the higher frets. I miss playing on an unfinished neck, but the gloss isn't terrible and I don't have any issues with it.

I was a little worried the first time that I had played the bass. It didn't sound as punchy as I had initially anticipated, but after some tweaking of the preamp, I got the Stingray to sound the was I needed it to for the church service that I played. I had previously played my Bongos completely flat with Cobalts Strings. I switched the strings on the Stingray to a set of Hybrid Cobalts. That really did the trick; the Stingray was very clear and punchy and I set the preamp back to flat. I absolutely love the feel, fit and finish of the bass and the TONE is out of this world! I still need some more time with it to give a complete review (and I still haven't had a chance to stand in front and away from my amplifier), but I really think you guys hit this out of the park. I LOVE THIS BASS and probably my favorite impulse buy ever, LOL.
