It came.
I was at work when I got the text from my sister that my bass had arrived. My last hour was a complete waste as I couldn't stop being so excited about what is not only my first bass purchase in 13 years and not only my first MusicMan ever, but a PDN StingRay5. I got home, opened it up, and.... man. What can I say? It's utterly amazing. First off, the instrument looks absolutely stunning in person - WAY better than any picture. Secondly, it sounds just like what I expected, an honest-to-goodness MusicMan. But here's where I was most surprised - it FEELS AMAZING. My biggest worry about ordering a StingRay was the thickness of the neck. I've played a jazz bass for forever now, and so I've been really used to that neck. But holy crap this feels unbelievable.
I couldn't be happier. Thanks to all the guys at MusicMan for making these awesome instruments.
Tomorrow I'm going to take some photos and get them posted, but for now, I leave you with this teaser:
It's a horrible photo, I know.
