Very nice, what about trying a set of the new Slinky-Flats on the fretless ? don't know anything about them as not tried them myself but sounds like it might be a nice compromise ?
Nice pair anyways :)

As much as I like the blue fretless, I think I need a 5 string fretless. So it is up for sale or trade.

Yes, sir! They both look fantastic.

Going by the unstamped neck plate, the SR5 will be pre-1990. Trans Red, body wood is probably alder, should be a nice and comfy weight!

From my experience with my 1990 Trans Red SR5, alder in combination with the alnico pickup gives you a warmer, more mid-rangey sound compared to ash/ceramic. Quite a bit of bite to it too, cuts through very well in a mix. Love it.

The Blueburst fretless also looks great. What year, I'm guessing 1988 or 1989?

My favourite era for EBMM instruments... Congratulations!

The trans red is a nice weight and July 1988 puts it as an early one. Haven't taken the neck off the fretless yet to check, guessing 88.
