After the success of cleaning the neck on my EVH, I though I should tackle my red Axis Hardtail.

I recently had the back of the neck sealed with 6 coats of gun stock oil as this neck has always felt slimy. The guy who did it buffed it to a sheen and I could not be happier. However, the fingerboard was disgusting and I decided to tackle it for myself. Just a light going over with wire wool and 16 years of gunk came off! Its looking a little anemic now, but I am sure I will get used to the new look!

Here are some 'in progress' shots:

The board is much smoother I am pleased to report!

Sadly the back has not changed. The guy who did it only did some light sanding and then sealed in the remaining dirt with the gun stock oil coats.
Just curious if you have used Murphy OS to clean it???Maybe it`s going to solve your problem?
