i read on the faq that you should use gunstock oil and wax to keep your neck in good shape

now firstly
it may seem stupid but that does mean the back of the neck not the fingerboard right?

and i cant seem to get any gunstock oil but i got some gun stock wax
but im not sure if i should put it on
it says it will leave a water repellent film

but i tried it on one of my other guitars (on unfinished wood) and it seemed to be ok

should i put it on my musicman?

No...It won't be bad, and you can use a bit of the wax on the fretboard . Don't use the oil on the fretboard.

Oiling the fretboard each restringing may be a little excessive.

Waxing the fingboard (lightly) help seal out/in moisture and acts as a barrier to finger dirt/oil penetrating the wood pores.

Wash/dry hands before plating to help keep neck clean and prolong string life.

Oil (lightly) the board when it gets gunky.I find that rosewood is more needy than maple. :)
