neck material?

the ones I own are (morse, petrucci, axis) and I know the sub 1 isn't, but I'm thinking of getting a sil or a luke and I just can't remember what exact maple they use for the necks on them.

lukes come w/ typically birdseye maple w/ rosewood fingerboard. but ....sometimes they will use flamed maple w/rosewood. luck of the draw i guess. i think flamed is much less common than birdseye.......i don't know why ........they sound the same......

i like the look of flamed alot more myself.....i got a flamed luke...and 2 flamed morse's..... :D

select maple infers it's nice...figured maple......weather it be birdseye or flamed...or at least very good grain....but above average.......SELECT !!!!

Would someone at EB please respond to this question. I know some things but I don't want to say. Opinion and reasoning are called for here.

Geez, guys, you get what you get :p

I've seen JPs with birdseye, birdseye/flame, flame, and plain. I would guess that means luck of the draw.
