Welcome Everyone,

I picked up a Silo Special about a year ago, have lurked a bit but never posted. I know the Silos aren't exactly the rage right now but It's a very cool guitar and I'm diggin' it a lot. I'd like to try some different pickups (probably just swap the neck initially before I experiment with the rest). I'm leaning twords the Cruiser Bridge, Suhr V60lp or ML pickups. I kinda have an idea of what the Cruiser sounds like from videos (and that it's a stacked SC design), but no idea really about the Suhr pickups. I guess the sound I'm going for in my head is something that can do the classic SC vibe clean, but also sound nice and liquid with distortion for leads. Something that leans towards fusion rather than say classic rock.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Best,

Rick

I can't comment on the other pickups you are considering, but I have the same model Silo Special except with a maple fretboard. It is currently rocking a Dimarzio Cruiser bridge in the neck and a Dimarzio AT-1 in the bridge (yes, I am a fan of Andy's tone!) with 500k ohm pots. I love the tones! A treble bleed circuit is highly recommended. Good luck in your tone quest.
