Apologies, I know this has been covered before, but hoping for some specific guidance.

Took delivery of a 'new old stock' Axis BFR recently. Great guitar, but I'm concerned about the neck pocket crack on the lower cutaway side of the neck. This was here on delivery.

It's my second Axis, first is a '97 I've owned for a long time, which has never developed these cracks.

I'm weary of this being structural.

I bought the guitar online (from a store) so I couldn't inspect it, but Musicman guitars are so consistent they're probably the only manufacturer of guitars that I'd buy unseen. I've raised this with the store, they requested a photo which I sent a few days ago and I've had radio silence since then.

I'm torn between returning the guitar and playing safe, and keeping it despite the flaws and possible issues under the crack.

Any input appreciated, many thanks.

Picture shows the lower cutaway mentioned, though both sides have the crack, upper side being smaller.
