Hola,
I've owned my SR5 for about 5 years now and it is my main bass. About a year and a half ago I installed a set of Labella flats, medium gauge. It required a decent amount of truss rod adjustment and I gave up even trying to get the neck perfectly straight. Hey if a bowed neck was good 'nuff for James Jamerson...
Anyway, over the winter I began having buzzing on the notes from the body joint up. I dealt with it as best I could but noticed that the neck was starting to look funky.
I just took measurements and this is what I got:
Height at 12th fret: 3/32"
Height at 9th fret: 5/64"
Height at last fret: 2/32" (!)
Do I have a ski slope/ s-curve thing happening? I'm ready to swap the Labellas off the thing, I'd rather have a healthy bass... Basically, I'm freaking out. Do I loosen the truss rod all the way and pray to the Gods? Restring with day old spaghetti? Send it to EB for a neck replacement?
Any help or valium would be appreciated.
