I love the Music man guitars but I find the neck shape too small in terms of front to back shape. If they would offer a beefier or larger neck profile I`d buy one in a heartbeat. Does any one else have this seem issue w/ Music Man guitars? Thanks in advance!

The different modles have different neck shapes. Did you try a Silo?

Which model did you try? What kind of neck are you used to?

Sorry for the questions, but post a random complaint and get a random response.

I like thinner necks, then again, that's what I've grown up with. Even my prs is thicker than I like. I mean, I've played thicker neck guitars but once you get used to thin, it's hard to want to go back again.... (and mm necks arent the thinnest I've played)

The Axis neck profile is "the absolute BEST!!!!!" But to each his own. I have big hands too, and it's not too small for me!! It's perfect!!

Woah there! That's waaaay too general a comment to kick off an intro with.

I have been fortunate enough to play the Sub, JP6, Axis, Luke, and BFR JP models. However I literally tried my first maple Silhouette yesterday.

This thing was fantastic. Fact.

Quite honestly blown away; just not what I expected.

Now, if you have tried them all, maybe these are just not the axes of choice for you

If you haven't yet played through the range, get to a store now and rectify this wrong! Do so now, and tell us which two you walk out with ;)

Strange, I find most guitar makers nowadays make the necks too fat.

Skinnier the better for me. :) They can just never be TOO skinny.

There's a whole lot of players who feel MM necks are too skinny. Fortunately, I'm not one of them. I could never get it on with fat necks.

you know you just have to do and make what you think is good...other companies make big bats and people love them ite great...its all about choices

Yuppers.

I personally can't believe some of the massive tapers I've seen on some Strats. Whatever floats the boat (neck).

I'll echo Robs comment, the Al shape is great, just right. In addition I find my 98 Silo to have a really comfortable neck profile. Baseball bats are OK.....for baseball. ;):p

Wow, I `m sorry if I upset Music Man guitar owners w/ my post about larger neck profiles. I too think they are great guitars and have owned a couple in the past ( EVH w Floyd trem, Silohuete). But in the end I just couldn`t get used to the small grip of the neck. In fact I have regular size hands and don`t find PRS Wide &Fat profile very large at all say compared to a Historic Les Paul or Fender Nocaster. I don`t think it would be that hard for them to offer a bigger shape neck for those who want it. Cheers!

Yeah you didn't upset me... I just totally disagree. IMO, MM necks are the best in the business. But that's just my preference.

The SUB and Axis have very comfortable necks. I have yet to try an AL, but there is much praise around here for the necks on those as well.

From what I understand, the JP has a "surf board" neck, so maybe that would feel better to you?

I have to say, when I bought my first EVH years ago, it did take a while to get used to the smaller neck size. But you soon get used to it!

The Axis neck is probably my favourite neck shape.
