Hi, Girlz and boyz!

I think I might want a 7-String. The model choice is obvious (except for a 7-String BFR Pet , which I actually wouldn't need since I have two of the 20-ths) - tell me about them!!!

I mean, how do the 7-string pets compare to the 6-string, especially in terms of neck dimensions and body size/weight, how long did You need for a transition (if at all there was any), do You really use the 7-String tonal possibilities, or stick to the 6-String-patterns most of the time. Also, it would be helpful to know how big your hands are :) - mine are rather small, but I find the wider necks (like that of a pet, or the classical guitar necks) extremely comfortable. And will I be able to play "Glass Prison" in its entirety as soon as I get the guitar:p?

So in a way - would You go for it and why?

Oh, yes, picks are very welcome :)

I have a JP 7 & bought it in preference to a 6-string.
TBH I don't think the neck is very much wider - it's certainly very playable & I don't have big hands.
I don't use the B string overmuch, but it's handy to have for some stuff.
I did find that it took a bit of getting used to, especially for fingerpicking or playing arpeggios, but after a while it's no big deal.
As always, try before you buy!

Thanks a lot for Your answer!

I did try them more than once - and was as blown away as You can be when playing a guitar in a shop for a rather limited amount of time. That's why I appreciate Your opinion - You do have that beast for some time now, and know what to expect in the longer run.
