Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I could use a little help from you guys.

I plan on buying a Petrucci soon and I am having a little difficulty deciding on the color. I am choosing between the Pearl Blue and the Pearl Red Burst. Unfourtunately, I can't afford any of the more expensive finishes, as I am still a college student.

I was hoping you guys could post picks of your Petruccis that have the Pearl Blue finish. I have seen alot of the Pearl Red Burst, but can't find many of the Blue Pearl. If anyone owns both, a side by side, that would be very nice. The stock pictures just don't them justice.

Thanks

Just got back from GC where I looked at 4 JP's. The Pearl Redburst looks as nice as the BFR's they had. It's a great color. I think the new Sterling Silver color would like fab on this guitar too.

pearl redburst is a very nice color that is difficult to photograph. you need full control over the lightning to get excellent results! lord knows ive tried at work, but i always end up with too dark. if i get it bright enough there are too many reflections from the surroundings. i need a photo booth :)

what im saying is that the pearl redburst is a beautiful beautiful color! i love it! :)

I've seen lots of Pearl Redbursts before. I don't think seen a guitar in Blue Pearl before. I'll have to check out the website. Personally, I'm not a big fan of PRB.

Seen both of those colours in the flesh and preferred the redburst. However if it was me I'd order a JP in graphite...

Hmmm, I'd say Blue. The redburst might be a bit more intersting to look at though. Wow, you have quite the dilemma. Good luck with the decision.

colour

why does choosing a colour matter so much?... everyone was saying i was crazy in spending an extra 700 to go mystic dream... at the end of the day you want the "ultimate guitar" i guess... good luck

Mystic Dream is worth the extra!!

Between the two you are deciding between i'd say Pearl Blue. I've always liked that color! I've never really been a fan of the red burst...

If I were to buy a JP6 today it will be a Pearl Red Burst. There is a good reason why it is so common.. (the same reason for the Trans Gold Axis) the guitar looks good in that colour.

Though I'm not a fan of the JP inlays, I wont get a JP6 without it.

Get Electric Blue man! it's brand new, looks sharp too. From the pictures I think it is going to have multiple blue tones to it.

+1 for the Pearl Blue. Pearl Redburst is really, really common.

Really, Really, Really, REALLY common. :D

Alternatively, go the Sterling Silver !

Silver JP's look great - mine's a sparkle - as seen here with JP :

but John's Gunsmoke looked awesome, so the Sterling Silver will look great :

Apologies for the possible thread derailment with different colour options !! :D

Personally I don't like the Blue Pearl at all. I thought for sure it was going to be one of the discontinued colours, and am still surprised it's available since the Electic Blue is a similar tone. Out of those 2 choices I would go with the Red Pearlburst. I know it's a very common colour for the JPs, but I think it's richer and deeper which in my book is very nice.
