I don't really get why I should have developed a monster finger strength, because all this time I've been playing with 0.09 strings. Isn't it really the same ?
Longer the scale the greater the tension. If you were to play a les Paul with 9s on it right now those strings would feel like spaghetti to you! A LP has a 24.75 inch scale as opposed to your baritone.
I love my baritone. It doesn't feel too weird playing back to back with my JPX although I don't know how you didn't realize earlier when compared with an LP. Here is a pic of mine hanging in between a 25.5" JPX and a 25" PRS and it obviously dwarves both of them.
Well that is one for the weird story of guitars book, but you sound happy with it and that is all that matters. You must also have some super strong fingers by now.
I stringed my guitar to AA and played it for those couple of days. It was really fun having that low range. But now I re-stringed it back to E, because I got bored of that Bari tuning. I also played my other guitars which are regular 25 inch scale. And I have to say now that I know it's a Baritone I really feel the difference. It's much easier for me to play other guitars. But the funny thing is that before I actually knew that my MM JP was a Baritone I never really noticed any difference . Now I want a regular JP.
