I was trying to adjust the balance knob in my EB MM Bongo, pushed a bit too much and ..... it broke :(

Now it looks like this:

Since I`ll surely won`t fix it myself, can anybody tell me if it`s easily repairable and where can I buy the replacement part/s ?

Thanks

i would try it in this order:

1. contact the dealer you bought it from. they should be able to get a replacement from the distributor in your country

2. if you have bought the bass second hand you could contact the distributor directly, but perhaps your local dealer will assist you anyways.. depends on how helpful they wanna be ;)

3. if none of that works id suggest talking to the peeps at customer service in usa. ill make no promises on their behalf, but my guess is that they will help you find someone who can get you what you need :)

I bought a Bongo about a year ago which had the same thing happen on both the volume and blend pots. I contacted EB customer service and ordered the pots, which are pretty unconventional, and fixed it myself. I had modded a couple pedals, and felt confortable in my ability to do it myself, which is a big part of the whole job. If you've never worked with circuit boards before, or aren't comfortable doing it, DON'T... you could mess up more than you can fix!!! Regardless, contact either a local dealer, or EB customer service (who, as we all know are excellent) and see what they can do for you!

Ave slap,

Wow, you must really slap that thing around!!

Either way, as mentioned , it's NOT that hard to repair/install new one as long as you patiently just follow the sequence/order/position of related part/wires when removing the old one.:)

To echo what others have said, EB will sell you the pot (very unlikely you could find it anywhere else) and installation is pretty much trivial assuming that you have basic printed circuit board soldering experience. If your soldering experience only involves large stuff and soldering guns, do your bass a favor, and have someone else do the work . . .

Thanks for the info guys.

I`ve already contacted a local and a regional EB representative (2 days ago). I`m still waiting for their answer. I`ll let you know once I got news.
