Need some help

I was born a bass player, but also play guitar. I play in a southern/classic rock bar band, and also play country. I thought a Steve Morse would be the ticket, in that it is so versatile. But now I see Johnny Hiland playing a SIlo.

So, question #1: Soundwise, what is the difference between a Silo and a Silo Special?

#2. Anybody that has an Albert Lee and a Silo Special, how does that sound different?

#3. How in the hell am I gonna raise enough money to get them both, plus the Albert Lee HH?

An Albert Lee SSS will cover your rock/country repertoire.

But don't let me put you off buying a silo or Al HH

Spud has the right answer, get the SSS or MM90 AL. Do it!

Both very versatile guitar, if you talk about HSS Silo Spec and HSH Silo. Real Single coil sound for one the other is a splitted humbucker, very close but different.One got 22 fret (silo spec) the other 24

Again you are comparing 2 different types of woods Ash for Albert, Alder for the Silo Specs. Seymour Ducan pickups against Di Marzio Pickups

I Prefer the sound of the Silo Spec against the SSS AL but overall I prefer the 3MM90 AL you can't beat that sound !!

between the AL and the Silo Spec, which one twangs harder? I played an Albert at Corner Music in Nashville recently, and it was pretty Stratty. Not that that is bad. And I know guys get a big twang out of theirs, but what about the SS?

Albert owns twang, the silo sp is more trad strat compared to the albert. Also, the difference between maple and RW board is huge on both guitars.

Thanks, I'm starting to see the light, and it's looking like an AL.

I'll vouch for the AL as well. I haven't played my tele once since I got mine, and if I need a strat I just flick the switch and it does that too. All while being a nicer playing geetar. I use my Silos (with buckers) for harder stuff.
