I'm looking for the Least expensive/Best Clip-on Music holder.

I have been starting to gig again, and am looking for the BEST clip-on music holder available. I have a gig this weekend, so it need to be available, shipped to NY for this Weekend.

I have tried THIS one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...eet_Music.html

I found that it wasn't TALL enough to hold a full sheet of paper. I was more than satisfied with the construction, and was thinking of ways to do a simple modification.

I've also found THESE. Anyone have any experience with them:

Any suggestions?

just checking, you are not wanting a stand-alone music stand, correct? Is it a stage real-estate issue? just wondering.

No I need a clip on like the pictures I've posted. I like to have a clip on to eliminate having an extra stand next to me. I suppose to take up less real estate.

Yeah .... and from the usual basser's spot on stage, you could
prolly just clip it to back side of a geetard, or a horn player :)

Is the stand for lyrics, chord charts, or sheet music? Unless your eyesight is really bad, I find that lyrics/chord charts go really well on the floor on on your monitor wedge. Nothing worse than a rock band with music stands on stage, IMHO.

Mainly for Lyrics/chords. We aren't playing big brightly lit stages. Mainly small pubs that are dimly lit. It helps to have a small inconspicuous clip on stand with a small goose neck light.

Much better than having a lead singer looking down at the floor every 5 or 10 seconds. ;)

Heck, just have your bass player hold the notes. They normally have plenty of free time and at least one hand that isn't doing too much.

Just kidding!!!

I still use a plastic clamp-on called the "Toy Box." I've had it for probably 25 years, and it's no longer made. Oddly enough, singer-songwriter Jill Knight, who lives in my small town, has one too. Neither she nor I had ever seen anyone else with one!

Here's a pic of it.

My trumpet player has just starting using his iPad at gigs, he has it mounted on a mic stand attachment and loves it.

I've seen those mounts. I have an IPAD, well sort of. My 2 year old thinks it's HERS, and would NEVER let me leave the house with it. I'm SERIOUS!

Well I got THIS one yesterday, and will test it out on my gig this weekend. 19765d1344261931-need-suggestions-my-gigging-knuckleheads-music_stand_small__76932_zoom.jpg

LOL, my wife took "mine", and I eventually bought myself one for work. :)

The trumpet player (a chart reader) swears the set list software is better than fumbling through a binder.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I've been using my iPad for charts as well. I haven't used it on a gig (by that time, I've memorized the material), but at rehearsals it's good. I bought a Bluetooth pedal that will flip the pages. I'm still not that good a flipping the page far enough in advance to not stumble in my playing, but I'm getting there!
