Yes, I know, I can send it to San Luis Obispo, but since I'm on the east coast, I'd rather not spend $100+ on shipping charges if I can avoid it.
2000 Sterling that I hadn't played in a few months. Not subject to radical temp/humidity changes, just sitting in its case. It's making loud, staticy noise when I touch the bass EQ knob and/or the volume. Sounds like when there's a bad jack which obviously is what I hope it is. I've eliminated all the usual suspects: battery, cable, pedals. I have a local repair shop that I've used for over 20 years w/great success, and while they're not authorized by EBMM, the lead tech assures me he can work on it. Any thoughts other than send it to California?
