Hi Folks. I'm thinking of buying a new Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass SSS from a Hartford-area local shop, and I'm wondering what luck you all have had negotiating the price down from the manufacturer's "street price" of $2,599. I'd also love to hear what you eventually paid for it. Thanks!

That's entirely on the dealer. Some budge and some don't. Remember that their margins are usually razor thin depending on when and how much they ordered.

Thanks, Glenn. In fact I drove to Manchester yesterday (2 hr drive) and stopped by another well-known store there. There were ~10 people shopping, 2 (3?) folks working there, but it was too frustrating trying to get help. I was able to eventually try the SSS in a noisy corner, and I really liked it. But I was turned off by the store and left. The GC nearby didn't have any SSS in stock, and I see that DuBaldo doesn't either, but maybe you're suggesting I call them to ask if they have any on order?Dude reach out to Dubaldo Music in Manchester, great place and they'll take care of you.

As others have said, give Pete a call. Many here can attest to not only an excellent buying experience, but he's great with taking care of his customers *after* the sale as well. Can't say that about many others anymore.
