Hey I knew this guy was good but now, after seeing his gear and realizing that he not only plays EB MM guitars, but he's also nutso about them, I have a greater appreciation for Neil Zaza. Please do yourself a favour, check him out, and drop him an email showing your appreciation!

Make sure you go the the music section and then right click to open the link for the audio sample. May I suggest Staring at the Sun!

Of course if you visit his links page, you'll happily see a link to none other than Mr. Ball's place!

Oh ya! Neil Zaza is amazing! Jon turned me on to him a few months back, so I grabbed a copy of Staring At The Sun, and it it's been in constant rotation on the CD changer since - he's an amazing player, and I love his writing; definitely in the same class as Vai and Satch, but with his own definitive stamp on the gendre. Well worth checking out!

I first heard Neil Zaza's playing a few years back. He was playing Peavey Wolfgangs at the time. It's good to see he's made the switch to EBMM.

I think he started out with EBMM-EVH's. Then he went to Wolfgangs. According to his site he still has 3. But clearly, he has more Axis now than Wolfgangs.

I wonder if he's going to start using the new EVH Charvels? ;)

Actually, he used to be a Hamer endorsee many, many moons ago. I saw him at a clinic where he had a really cool lookin' one with a SpiderMan graphic on it. I was on duty with my job at the time so I couldn't hang out to see the whole thing, but he also struck me as a very nice guy and a talented player...

Fair enough. By sayng "Started Out with" I was unintentionally vague. I meant that before he used Wolfgangs, he was using EBMM EVH's. I really don't know what he was using before that. If it was Hamers. I'll take your word for it.

Neil's new signature axe features:

bolts on
3pc maple neck
Neil custom neck dimension
30 millimeter thickness walnut headstock
headstock logo: Cort
headstock logo material: golden metal
ebony fingerboard
inlay: a special blue color "NZ" logo at 12th fret
24 fret
stop tail
golden hardware
3 way toggle pu switch
pu: seymour duncan sh1, sh11 /w split

Funny....That looks like one of those new fangled Ibanez that Marty Friedman plays....the arrangement of the thru body on the strings nails that perfectly.

I heard that many of the Asian made instruments are actually made in the same factory so that doesn't surprise me. I Cort made by Samick or is it the other way around. I only remember hearing that between the two of them they build most of the guitars from that part of the world. :p
