I finally got a free program to change some old Nerve DVDs into mpegs. The stuff is kinda dated (we don't dress like this anymore, we often don't dress - period), but I think the vids are fairly entertaining and if I don't share them here - well then....?

Most stuff was shot btwn 1998 - 2000. A couple of other basses sneaked into the the footage but it's clear what my choice of bass was. This was all mostly before the Bongo was a glimmer in BPs eye.

1. Rocumentary excerpt is a bunch of live footage with us talking a bit in between.

2. Swimming Pool is a love song I wrote for Andrea, and one of the very few songs I ever sang in my life.

3. Change the Station is all live footage from various clubs and some all ages shows around the NY area.

PARENTAL ADVISORY: While I would give all the videos a PG rating, the "F" word bares itself a handful of times, and, well - it's rock and roll. Hope ya's like em, feel free to comment. :)

Next up, in a month or so, a Bumblefoot video we shot a few weeks ago. I'm psyched because it's being produced by some of the best people in the industry. Nerve stuff was all self produced with the help of a couple of really talented friends.

Good stuff. Especially liked 'Swimming Pool', I'll bet your girl got a big kick out of that. I have never played or listened to much of the type of Rock that you play (58 years old, nuff said) but I really dig the energy and all the fun you appear to be having.
On a personal note, I always think a bass player is a converted guitar player when I see them playing with a pick (my hang-up) so I was happy to see you using some plucking fingers as well. Nothing wrong with converted guitar players playing bass, I'm actually one myself and I do like the sound of a bass played with a pick, used one myself on one song, "I'm a Man" by Chicago. I'm not sure what I'm saying here, I think I'm just hopelessly old school.

I noticed when I was watching the videos (hadn't seen them in a while) that I'm pretty much almost always using a pick. It's interesting because I only used to use a pick on a few songs - pretty much all the ones we video taped. Now I never use a pick. Like playing with my fingers so much more. Even though I am a converted guitar player. I was always a bass player though, just confused and misguided.

Great stuff - thanks for posting!

I enjoyed it all - great big sound for a threesome - cool!

Loved the glimpses of the NY club scene - especially the CBGB footage...

Took me right back... :)

Joe, the videos are great! I'm still listening to your CD and I still like it.

I had never notice the resemblence between you and Nicholas Cage until I saw you in the "Swimming Pool" video. In case you were wondering, that's a compliment.

How could one get ahold of this CD?
