Hi all,

went amp shopping today, had some money to spare, so I drove to some stores and came home with this:

PICT0039.jpg

Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 2x12... Sounded great in the shop, sounds great in my house so far! Very versatile amp, the 5 watt is very sweet, and the 50 watt is LOUD!! The sound is a bit rounder and fatter than my Deville 410, very different sound, so I'm very happy with it!!

In addition, since the summer is coming up, I bought some new shoes!!! (This one is for you BP!):

Reef sandals with the bottle openers underneath!! Way cool slippers man!!:cool::cool::D

So, to all you guys, who have never tasted Belgium's finest, I give you:

Duvel!! Try it if you can find one in the US... Or else: there's always a couple in my refrigerator, you're all invited!

Cheers!

OUch. Strong stuff! The Amp too. I have a few nights I can remember nothing about because of that lager. Tastes great though!

Those amps aren;t very hi-gain are they? I mean, if you're looking for a scaled down rectifier sound. They don't really do that. Would that be correct?

Nice one. That amp looks intresting.

BTW, 1/2 a liter (Is that how you write it?) of Duvel here costs around 17$, so i'll stick to Tuborg. :)

All three of those are awesome!

Plenty of gain in the Mesa ? Been contemplating the 5:25 head...

I think most Mesas have plenty of gain for me, but I'm not looking for a Recto. Now, whether or not they sound the way I want them to, well...that's another story. I think the Mesa 5:50 is a good amp. If I had the time to really tweak it, I think I could get the sounds I like. I just tried it for a few minutes in the store.

Does Duvel compare to Palm beer? I had Palm beer in the Netherlands in March and it was the best beer I've ever had, just about. It is too costly to have it shipped to the US, and it is not available over here...

It's very different from Palm... Palm is a darker beer, while Duvel is brighter... Duvel has some more alcohol in it aswell... If you liked Palm, you should definitely try Duvel sometime, it's 10 times better!! :D

It has plenty of gain for me! I feel that this amp really brings out my 20th Silhouette... It really sings, tons of sustain... This amp really brings out the best sounds of the 20th...

But also the MM90's sound great through the Express. The clean channel has plenty of punch...

Even my Taylor with Expression System sounds great through this amp!

Interesting - in the pre-new amp purchase mode right now and certainly looking towards an Express 5:50, a Genz-Benz Black Pearl 30 and Supersonic... very nice. Contratulations
