Had to go pick up at the Fedex distribution center, which was a pain in the ass to get too. Unfortunately, I won't have much time to play it for the next two weeks do to business and other traveling, but I did get to plunk around for 30 minutes today.

This is a Thunderfunk 420 which is 400w@4ohm. Farily low powered, but a strong 400w. Immediate impression is quality. Built solid, has a switchable fan, 15 pounds and the sound just screams quality. The Funk is all solid state, but is renown for having a very warm tone. Its strange, but it seems warm and Hifi at the same time a really killer combination. I can't wait until things settle down and I get some more time to mess around with it. I am not a big knob tweaker and this thing just has tons of options with the parametic eq, I don't even know where to start.

Here are the obligatory pics.

Nice!

You got a Genz-Benz for sale?

Let me know when you get back. I've been wanting to try a Thunderfunk for a long time. Although I'll be in Jamaica the first week in May.

Yeah, I already have a buyer lined up on the GB. I will be sure to get you over here to have a looksee. I'll be back for the guitar show.

The knobs are set just fine (sounds great flat to me). :D I like mine best with the timbre at 10 or 11 and the enhance about 3 or less.

I love the way the timbre knob works.

What's the word on your iAmp?

Well....as far as I know, someone was supposed to call or email someone else today, and that would somehow result in the iAmp being sent to me.

I try to stay away from the details. I say, "Steve, I want one" and then it happens, kind of like magic, I think.

Only it costs me more than your typical magic, but I don't mind.

I see all those knobs and I start to sweat and feel like I did during a Calculus test. Then I look at my F-1X and begin to calm down again.

I hear you, but do you have any idea how often I've adjusted the knobs on my Sunn?

I got a good sound, I stopped. I'm guessing it will be exactly the same with the EA head.

But let us now return to those thrilling days of.....er....Paul got a Thunderfunk or something.

When things settle down for me after next week Jack, perhaps I may let you sniff it. You planning on going to the Guit Show next weekend? I won't be able to go until 3ish on Saturday, but will be free for Sunday, when I go will depend on who will be available to explore with me.

What's this "guitar show" of which you speak?

The big Dallas show at Market Hall Benny Boy. Not this weekend, but the next. Not usually a good show for basses, but I always like wandering around.
