been busy 2day. after running the night shift, waited till 10 and bought myself a propper amp, cuz i can't really use my hiwatt custom 20 2x10 combo. should such a clean amp really blow the fillings from my teeth?

anyway, the amp was most definitly thrashing propper! i wonder what kids are playing these days that makes the thunderverb not have enough gain...
the speaker however, was the winner of the day. it's a 1x12 with a vintage 30 in it. handbuilt and all that lyrical BS says the sales dude. but the SOUND!!!!!!

the cab fills up very quickly, easilly sounding like a 4x12 at a lower volume. it's so deep sounding you WON'T crank the bass past 6! i think it's measures have something to do with it. it's 9cm (3" 3/4 or something for you non-decimal folks :p).but what REALLY impressed me was how well the cleans connected to the speaker... beautiful, full dark. round yet pungent. added some of that valve reverb goodness... o m g ...

admitedly, that 'verb is the kind that can overpower a mammoth on steroids, but if you want to do that peter green/gary moore/old hammet solos, it gets you right there. just not really suited for rhythm playing.

and if you're wondering why i would go for orange:
- i wanted the old Mark2c sound but nothing really came close and i can't afford a mesa.
- it has a power section which claims to cope with basses! standard B ain't so lo no mo!
- the best reason of all: built in power brake! for those who CAN be kicked out of their residence, a gift from heaven (or hell, depending on alllignment pts! :D).

AND while i was there i saw he stocked vacuum packed not-even-slinkies... my next words were: can you setup a guitar?

gonna pick the amp up 2morrow and my guitar, now tuned to B, in a weeks time.

damn, that was a long post...

hmmmmz, yeah, i'd doing that too BUT i'm way too broke and don't have the blasted sm57 everyone needs :p did u do it with the camera mic?

did you ever go through embarassing moments testing stuff? today, after i'd closed the deal, the dude goes take a look see if he can make me a better deal. so like, i think, might as well check the cleans out. i realised why everything was so damn dark: i was so tired i forgot to open the tone pot after tuning the guitar! :p:eek::D
