I bet that 4x12 cab is HEAVY! Both weight wise AND sound wise!

Just noticed that the 1x12 cab I bought has a G12H30 in it (30 watts). Think I should swap it out for a V30 (60 watts)? Don't want to blow the speaker...

You're right on both counts. That cab weighs too much, and sounds way too good.

I prefer the sound of a V30 regardless of wattage.

I bought a Mesa Black Shadow 90 watt speaker for the cab I bought a few days ago. I'm hoping it will handle the 85 watts from the Mark IV with no problems!

Anyone heard the black shadow first hand?

Yes, there is a Black Shadow in the Mark IV combo. It is a great sounding speaker.

I second the endorsement of the Black Shadow. I have one in my .50Cal+. The combination just sings. Of course, it's much nicer to have 4 of them in a 4 x 12. I also love the Vintage 30 in my F-30. Both are fantastic speakers.

Nice one - I gotta say that yesterday I tried a Mesa Boogie for the first time a F50 combo and it was great with my LEAL.

Gonna try out an old musicman RD112 combo today I hope.

I love the 50-watt Mesa amps. I think they can crunch and sing with the best of them. Plus, I love the clean. My .50Caliber+, when it's right at that point where there's just the right amount of feedback, man...the guitar and amp almost play themselves. It's like cruise control. All I have to do is steer.

Awesome! I feel much better about my purchase now. I hope the new DT cd arrives in the mail today. That way I will know how I want my Mark IV to sound...

I guess i'll sell the G12H30 speaker on ebay once the cab and speaker both get here.

I'm still trying to find a Mark IV footswitch (FU-3)...

Once I have the footswitch i'll be ready to rock out with my co.........uh..... nevermind.
