The MB running into the EBS 4x10? Don't know, haven't tried it. I've only been running EBS into EBS and MB into MB at the moment.

OK, LMII into MB 2x10 vs. EBS HD350 into EBS 4x10Neo:

I find the MB to be more of a closed, tight, articulate, natural sound. It is very versatile and clean. The VLE and VPF knobs give you fast access to dramatic tone change. It is very light weight and still sounds very big.

The EBS is a more open, colored sound. It's not as natural and tight as the MB. It is versatile, but takes more time to change the tone than the MB. It is also substantially heavier and bigger and sounds only minimally bigger than the MB. The EBS has a nice built in compressor and I like the "drive function". I also like that the EBS's Direct Out is pre/post EQ selectable.

I have not yet used the MB in a band setting, I will be doing that later on today. Will let you know how that goes.

Although the EBS and the MB are two quite different animals, I do prefer the MarkBass as it is lighter, easier to tweak the tone, and it's hard to get a bad tone out of it.

The VLE stands for Vintage Loudspeaker Emulation and is almost surely the one you're thinking about. It's the only "tone" knob I ever use on my LM2.

The VPF (is that what it's called) is useful for a more modern, mid-scooped, hi-fi tone, so you can imagine that I've not gotten much use from it.

Given what they do, it seems logical (to me) to not use them in conjunction with each other, although everyone's idea of tone is different.
