After not having an Axis for years, I finally got enough scratch together and ordered a brand new Axis from Bizarre Guitar (Reno). Should be a trans gold Axis w/matching headstock. I am hoping for a quilt top. It will look just like my old one.

They say it should be at my place by the end of next week; it's going to be a long week.:D

Congrats, it shouldn't be too rough to wait a week or so....but hanging around here can seriously add to the torture so :D

My new Axis is on the Little Brown Truck right now and it's "Out for Delivery." Waiting. Congrats!

I guess the toughest part is not knowing whether it will be a quilt top or flame top. I am hoping for a quilt, but flame will be cool too.

It should be here sometime tomorrow afternoon; really stoked. I talked to the dealer today when it arrived, and it is a trans gold quilt top/matching headstock, as I was hoping. If it is anything like my old trans gold one, it will be killer.

Pics coming as soon as possible.

I got the new Axis today, and would post photos, but for whatever reason Photobucket hasn't been letting me log in, so I can't use them to host the pictures.

Anyway, I got the guitar out of the box, and I noticed the top; not as classic quilt as my previous trans gold one. This one is a much tighter quilt, almost flame pattern; really different, although very cool, with a matching headstock. The neck is perfect, the guitar plays and sounds great. I am going to have to get used to it, after playing Les Pauls again for the last couple of years more or less exclusively, but I don't think it will take much time. I was already feeling much more comfortable by the time I reluctantly put it away tonight.

Tonally again, very different than the Les Paul, in a very good way. The guitar is very snappy yet warm, not really sure how to put into words how it sounds, but I am sure most of you know. I have to dial in the Bogner a little differently to get the sound I hear in my head, but that is coming along as well. I can't wait to take this to my band rehearsal this weekend.

Pictures soon, I promise.
