New Baby Has arrived

I got the call from The Perfect Bass today, my Sterling 5 HH 2008 Ltd with matching headstock and maple board came in and they shipped it out to me today!!!! Oh boy, I can hardly wait. I've never owned a Sterling so this is an extra cool deal for me. Pics and comments will be posted upon arrival.

I can say first hand that you will love both the Sterling 5 HH and the Sequoia Gold finish. I just got my Sterling 5 HH (Pacific Blue Burst) and I also have a Stingray 5 08. I just got my Sterling 5 and have 2 gigs this weekend, so I can't wait to play her.

I'm sure you'll love her!

Don't forget no pic=nobass :D

Just got the new Sterling this evening. Pics will be along in a day or so as I haven't gotten a chance to take any yet and want to be able to do it without a flash. As you probly would suspect, it's gorgous. I was kind of expecting it to be lighter than my SR5's (I have 5 of them) and this bass is right in the middle weight wise. On my digital scale it weighs 10#7oz. The neck on these is obviously the same as the SR5 which is just fine with me.
Sound wise compared to my SR5 HH 2005 ltd with maple board there are some differances but they are very subtle (to my old ears anyway). The Sterling seams to be alittle more defined or tighter sounding while the ray seams to have alittle more meat. Again, sound wise, I find the differances minimal.
The Sequoia gold finish is very cool and really lends itself to the gold hardware. It sounds and plays like a Musicman ott to. The only disappointment (not that big of a deal) is that it tips the scales at around 10 1/2 pounds and I was sort of expecting something around a pound less than that. Oh well, we all know basses can vary alot in weight. Heck, I have a Fender 62 ri jazz that weighs more than any of my 7 Musicmans.
My favorites are still the Bong 5 HS and the SR5 HS.

Bill,

My Sterling 5 HH PBB weighs exactly 10 pounds, so I'm not sure why yours weighs more. Maybe it's all the solid gold bling? :D

In any event, congrats on the addition to the family.
