Greetings folks. This is my first Ball-Era post, cuz i finally got my RR JP6 from the store!!! it's a 2004 ltd ed (got it for a more than reasonable price) and absolutelly kills any preceoncept i had about what a quality guitar is. EBMM's slogan should be "ask for the best and get even more".
too bad i live in the most run down cardboard box ever and have to leave my baby at my girlfriend's house which is a safe 15km away, where thieves won't find it(i can hear the washburn snicker in the dark...). it's like shared custody....
and just after one day bumping in the dark for a killer metal sound (EMG addict here) i figured out what could make someone switch from a Steve's S to a D-Sonic: the SS has too little mid to accept the Mesa Scoop(tm). and without cutting mid the neck pickup is muddy. and overall, the mesa character is what makes the sound so recognisable. but in a low gain setting the SS seems alot smoother(as opposed to gritty) and shinnier (opposed to fat). but since i'm still adjusting my right hand position to the new low string profile of the countersunk tremolo, i can't tell if i need help reaching my beloved Chunk-Chunk!
hey, and if anyone lives in the UK and can help me understand how it all is there, i'd be undyingly grateful! (wanna go be a guitar man in the grey land... in holland there are cows. and cows ain't rock-and-roll).
and sorry for the long post
