I received my new Bongo 5HH from GC a week ago. One thing I question was that the 9v batteries were pre-installed. Are they shipped from the factory that way or is that 'dealer prep'.

I tried searching the forum for an answer, but was unable to find anything.

It would be a hell of a dealer to put in fresh batteries, now that's customer service!

Well, I'm pretty sure that in mine Sterling was factory built in battery!

I made this conclusion on following facts:

- battery was Duracell with "Made in USA" mark (I live in Europe)
- battery production date was 2007. (my Sterling is produced in 2008./make sense)
- battery voltage was barely 9 Volts (fresh ones goes over 9.5 V)

So, if that helps? ;)

Cheers!

Like I said, I got it from Guitar Center. :D They'd never put in batteries, would they?

Everything looked factory fresh. I was just surprised there were batteries (Duracell 9s) already in it.
