That's a really nice color. I saw and played one at the G.C. in Boston. I would have bought it if it wasn't for my Big Al fretless 5 being on the way. Congrats. I love the pearl finish on it. I noticed that when you moved it around in the light you could see the different colors in it. It must be a great looking bass with the rosewood fingerboard and the white guard.

Congratulations! And yes, a lot (if not all) StingRays go to passive mode when the battery is removed.

I did not know that!

BTW, the GC in North Dallas has the most EBMM products I've ever seen in any one store in the DFW metromess. The four other stores I've visited don't have anywhere near as many... I saw at least 15 Ray's, Sterlings, and Classics.

I remember that my good ol' Brownie does not run without battery. I did not try this on the newer Rays I have or have had.

ive seen that brownie, its gorgeous! what is the actual factual name of that color by the way?

oops, I really don't know. maybe Gav. has an idea...

yeah cause i was looking all over for the name of it. and i thought it might be the fabled "root beer" i heard the early rays were finished in. but its such a gorgeous brown!
