So glad you like it...this bass is maybe too much for the average joe way to many good tones... I know it sounds pompous but we were way ahead of time on this....

Totally agree, I keep finding new tone nuances every time I plug it in, and between the passive and active flavours, there are as many combination as you can find between the pickup selectors and the preamp knobs and that very clever passive tone which I have renamed the "honey pot"

massive applauses go to BP & co for the 25th Ann. Basses. Respeck!

Pardon the thread "hi-jack."

The reason I chose a Big Al 5 single H is because the four combinations are plenty for me:

Active/series

Active/parallel

Passive/series

Passive/parallel

That's fantastic. I was against EB's new 'push button' basses for a while, but I recently read a post on TB lamenting the fact that so many of the 'boutique' manufacturers were designing what are essentially Fenders "on steroids." But when I see this 25th Anniversary with the quilted top so favored by those boutique makers, it makes me so happy to see that the electronics are just as amazing as the rest of it. Finally, something truly different; something thinking outside of the box; something new!

I was against EB's new 'push button' basses for a while,

Initially, I was "against" them too, and I don't know why!

I've been openly embracing the control features and tonal options that my new Big Al 5 single H will bring as I wait for its arrival.
