Check out what arrived today for me! I had to clean it up a little and the hardware is a little tarnished (i'll work on that later) but the finish is absolutely stunning, if somewhat difficult to photograph and it plays and sounds superb!! In fact the case itself is a work of art!
Without further ado (and please, bear with my amateur-ness), pics:

WOW!!! That rivals my just arrived Dargie!

You better be! Now, play it and tell me that the HH is not the best StingRay config.

BTW, where did you find that beauty?
haha thanks, i'm LOVING the HH config over the single H on my old SUB, so much more tonal variation, it's great!

And i acquired it in a trade on a certain UK bass forum

Woaaaah...nice one! I'm jealous. Very very jealous.

Don't you dare sell this one for a 'you-know-what'

Gorgeous, I'm very happy for you.

yeah tell me about it, i'm going to have to strip the neck down and re-oil it soon, it's not the cleanest. Luckily the hardware is looking better, but i think gold tends to oxidise a lot faster than chrome, so i may just keep it in the case rather than on a hanger like i was going to

Sequoia is another one of those EB colors that must be seen. I unfortunatly sold my 2008 LE SR5 earlier in the year. JOSH

Definitely, i think those pictures do it a good degree of justice, but you still can't see the real depth of the finish. Lord knows how EBMM come up with such amazing finishes!!

I know looks are important, and your bass surely scores high in the good looks chart but you must remember the important thing is how you enjoy playing it and the sound that you feel when it comes out of it, and of course people who will listen to your recordings when you make it big, they won't see the colour of your bass they will only hear the good vibes.

Was I too soppy? Sorry.

haha no man you're totally right, took it to band practice today, i thought i would have a hard time getting used to it going from a skinny neck, but it feels totally natural, lovely profile and the action is great. Got some really nice sounds out of it too. I think if it had some new strings it could really live up to it's potential. This bass is so much better than my old SUB bass, i know i really shouldn't be, given that the SUB was a cheapy bass, but i'm actually surprised how much better it is, in pretty much all areas!

Oh and i may have a possible recording session at college tomorrow :)
