Today was a great day!

I found a used Bongo 4H in Desert Gold, and I made the purchase last weekend. It showed up at my doorstep today! :D

It was a slightly (and I say slightly, because how can you really go wrong with ebmm?) risky purchase on my part since I had never even seen a Bongo in person, much less played one. However, the risk paled in comparison to the reward.

Simply incredible.

The color is gorgeous. The tone nothing short of pristine. Unbeleivebly light-weight. Totally comfortable to play. As a plus, my wife digs it :)

In the few minutes of play time I had plugged in (I live in a duplex... gotta be nice to the neighbors) through my ernie ball 2x10 and 2x12 cabs, and my yorkville head, I fell in love with the tone.

I did a "side by side" comparison to my '94 SR4H ... I found the SR was darker and more agressive with heavy growl, the bongo was pure and smooth. It will be a great addition, as I can use it in the second half of my bands set when we mellow out a bit, giving us a more distinct sound then.

So well done EBMM! You have given me 2 great basses that will last me a lifetime. Thank you for making great quality instuments, ans standing behind them, as well as the players who use them.

and yes, I know.. no pics, no bass.. so here goes! (credit to my super awesome wife who allows me to buy said bass, and also takes great pics)

first , me screaming "NEW BASS DAY!!" when it arrived.

That's GREAT! That baby looks MINT, plus no obligatory headstock chip... :)

Congratulation, and play her in good health.

Honestly, if I have ever seen a used bass that could be called "mint" it is this one. The case still even has that rosewood smell. I got very very lucky.
