Well, actually it was a couple of weeks ago, but I'm back in the EBMM fold with one of the Series 133 2eq Stingrays in Candy Red.

Previously (about 5 years ago), I had a natural 3eq with piezo bridge and a metallic blue SR5, but neither really did it for me. I love how the 2eq is voiced differently from the 3eq, which sounds like more of an Everyman bass, the 2eq really is the original Stingray sound, with more pronounced voicing on the bass and treble frequencies.

While I'm at it, does anyone know what the mysteriously named, "selected tone woods" are in the 133?

It all makes me want to get a Stingray Classic - Better put that proposed Big Al on hold...

Rich! Nice to see you (not seen you on the UK forums for a while).

Those 2EQ special runs are basically a run of three different colours, 2EQ, with gig bags, the rest is exactly the same as normal Stingray producition.

I've now luckily got a Ray 5 Classic and it is a stunner, but try a Big Al!

Hi mate! Long time no see indeed!

Yes, both are on my list, but if it's not much different to mine, I may just leave the Stingray Classic and go Big Al SSS or HSS.

Still playing two Status S2-Classics as my main basses, but loving my new MM.
