The U.K. distributor, Strings & Things, are displaying the new bass models this weekend at the London Bass Guitar Show at Kensington Olympia.

I went today to have a look. Very impressed with all three of them. There's always too much background noise at the show to try an instrument properly but these basses feel great in your hands.

The Caprice and Cutlass both have a satin finished neck - very sweet, sort of half-way between high gloss and oil/wax. Beautiful neck profiles. I particularly liked the maple necked Cutlass, and the Caprice is also super comfortable. Both basses are fairly lightweight.

Old Smoothie is a class act. Again, great neck profile, skunk stripe and gloss finish on this one. Loving the Chocolate Burst!

Here are some pics:

Nice pictures Oliver. Did you get chance to play Old Smoothie. I wasn't able to get there yesterday and have a gig this afternoon so no chance today either.

All right, I have no pride, and I'm ready to be made to feel like a moron. How the heck do they make those basses look like they're floating in air? They can't be that light.

Plexiglass mounts. Part of which you can see on the Caprice's rear strap pin and the green "stripe" behind both basses.

The "legacy" type designs [P-bass etc]
oughta put some kinda hurt on GnL, not
that I wish them an ill wind. OTOH GnL
should at least consider shielding their
control cavities ... just to keep pace ?

Anywho, bravo EBMM. This new increase
in models proliferation should shut up the
complaints about EBMM's de-proliferation
of finish colors etc.

Acoarst I must now guard with my life all
my piezo equipt FL EBMMs. C'est la vie.
