Hi all

I have managed to get the HH Ray in White/Rosewood I have been after. Strings & Things UK reserved one they had coming in, except this had a Black Pearl guard and the icing on the cake, the matching headstock.

I have a spare Tort HH guard and they also shipped a spare White HH guard so I had what I wanted.

The Black Pearl looks amazing! I'm leaving it on for now.

This bass arrived to me last week (Wednesday) but I've been very busy with Xmas preparation, work, and a few family matters, so today was the first plug in to an amp (Genz Streamliner 900).

When it was delivered last week, I immediately gave it a visual checkover and quick play unplugged. It was almost in tune! Perfect quality control, and the action/setup/neck felt amazing.

So, I was happy to put it in my gear-room to rest until I had chance to play.

Today, I checked it out plugged in.

First impressions - this is the snarliest most snappy Stingray I've ever heard. It sound awesome! Obviously roll off the treble and move to the front pup and you have a thumpy older style tone. Back pup, bumped mids, rolled down treble and bumped bass gives you that cutting fingerfunk tone we all know and love.

All the different pups settings are great. With this bass, its REALLY noticable when you switch pups.

Slap (not that I do much) sounds aggressive, punchy and clean.

The Streamliner 900 cops a good overdriven pick grind tone if you max the gain, and with a pick the Ray snarls like crazy!

Love this bass. Love the look, the feel and the tone. Great medium weight and perfect build.

Thanks EBMM, and S&T. This is 'the one' HH I was looking for.

Stay tuned for Bongo 5HH additions...coming soon.

Sorry, lack of pics, not much time for that.

Congratulations! The Stingray HH is a wonderful beast - positions 3 and 4 (counting from the bridge) are my favorites of the "additional" ones, even though pos 1 is where it's set most of the time for me. May you enjoy your new SR for a long time!
