So firstly, the good...my latest EBMM is the Bea Artist Sabre! Absolutely in love with it. Out of my JR Cutlass, Kensure & Valentine this one feels the most like 'me'.

This was shipped to me in AUS from the US in the Mono case and had 10-52 strings tuned in Eb.

It played well immediately however in Melbourne we have had some wild weather swings from hot days to cold rainy days. I've been keeping this guy in his Mono case whereas my others hang on the wall.

I noticed the fret edges were a little sharp on some days and then fine on others.

I've put a little work into my room on humidity and now have a humidifier (set to 55%) and a dehumidifier to try keep the room more consistent.

I recently changed the strings to 10-54 and tuned to Drop C tuning. Since then I've got some extreme rattle/buzz going on with my low E string and the fret edges feel sharp again.

I've been adjusting neck relief anywhere from 0.006 to 0.010 and increasing saddle height up to 2.50mm however the buzz doesn't improve.

I put on a fret rocker and can feel movement between 5th & 7th fret, so looking light 6th might be too high.

For those with experience with humidity playing havoc, would you suggest I keep the room at a higher humidity say 60% for a bit to let the guitar absorb more with the hope it may reduce the fret sprout and perhaps fix the high fret...then lower to 55% slowly?

Any tips ideas would be welcomed!

Congrats on the Rabea, great guitar. Fret sprout happens, my AL has been experiencing it as well, the temp changes like you said. Stew Mac has a Youtube video on handling the fret sprout.

Usually humidity changes (we are not talking crazy crazy) so not cause fret to pop as they are glued in. Is your action 2.5 at the 12th fret? Not trying to be rude, but do you know how to use fret rocker, as sometime different orientation can make it rock falsely. Can you maybe make some videos?

Just stick to 40-50% and you will be fine.

Hi! I've tried action anywhere from 1.75 up to 2.5mm at the 12th fret (open) and the buzz is consistent.
I am using a Music Nomad gauge and going all the way up the fretboard I can repeatedly find a small rocking when over the 5th-7th fret.

I've tried lifting the action and adding more relief and it doesn't go away. This wasn't an issue 2 weeks ago. So weird.
I even went back up to the original Eb tuning and no better.

I am going to buy a deadblow hammer later today and see if I can carefully knock the 6th fret back down a bit.

Hopefully thats the solve.

Is the guitar new? Any chance your dealer can take care of it? Have tried adjusting relief to “maximum”?

Just a word of caution, if I am not mistaken those are SS frets and if you make an indentation or even a scratch it will be very difficult to polish it off.

It is new but I bought it from a dealer in the US and was shipped here to Australia.
I could take it to a tech to be safe I guess.

Was hoping just more time for the humidity to settle it might fix itself.
