Are these the strings being discussed? I bought these sometime in the very late 80s. But they make no mention of Ernie Ball, Could Kramer have repackaged them?

Wow - This brings back memories!

BP -Thanks man, great story! I was a massive Eddie head when I was younger that when I was learning to play I read about him boiling strings etc.....so I used to go out and get 5150's and proceed to boil them as per Ed's various interviews....

Damn thing never worked - the strings didn't help me to play like him, and after boiling the strings were so brittle that sometimes you just had to look at them for them to snap! Bloody Ed trying to keep us off his trail.........

Happy days!
