Thanks for sharing that bit of Music Man history, Sterling. Looking forward to seeing what's next down the line of your amps! Congrats my friend.

Curious to see what develops. The old MM amps were very good clean amps. Quite rugged too, I know of folks who have had them for decades. But EB (and likely MarkBass as well) seems to be quite a forward thinking company, so I can't imagine the new line being simple reproductions of the early MM amps. Seems like quite a natural progression, I noticed at NAMM that several guitar builders are now dabbling in amps, PRS, Schecter, etc.

Best of luck EB and company. (Too bad I just ordered a new Marshall.)

This is very exciting news about the amps! Loved the blog too and hearing about the history. Makes me appreciate it even more.

Ive played through an old music man head, i think it was 60 watts? I always used a pedal for gain since it was a clean jangly type of amp, the new ones should look into the high gain market, maybe a new spin on it?

[tongue in cheek] and Speaking as a big MM amp fan/nerd... ... BP intimates that the guitar amp is gonna be an "as was" amp but with the facility for a dedicated pedal, as opposed to a switching pedal bringing in for example the 12ax7 tube as a distortion circuit.
My wish would be for EB to use the exact same grill cloth as the original guitar amp - very similar to the Fender grill cloth but as us "MM amp corksniffers know" - is different!
It's also impossible to source the exact same grill cloth for refurbs/repair. So - please BP use the same grill cloth as the original.

Also, it's well known on the MM amp side that people like Fuchs and Ed Goforth, have tweaked the amps further. For example Ed's tweaks to an RD50 112, has resulted in very Larry Carlson esq/Robben Ford/dare I say Dumble tones. Would be good to see those tweeks built in, because they have taken the amp to another level, and all contained in such a small package [/tongue in cheek]
Can't wait to try out one of these
